The Two Responsible
In 1985, brothers Steven and Jon Dodd co-founded Tuition Management
Systems based on a desire to help other lower middle-income
families like theirs afford an education. Their parents, who
struggled to help finance education for four children, dealt
with many of the same issues families face today. They experienced
first-hand the difficulties piecing together Pell Grants,
Stafford Loans and Work Study to get the education bill paid.
It took more than a little sacrifice and creativity at the
kitchen table. This experience resulted in the founding of
Tuition Management Systems and has grown steadily since that time.
As the Dodds built their company,
they sought people who shared their passion and embraced
their mission of developing innovative education payment
options for families and schools. Today, 150 people at Tuition
Management Systems, supplemented by 40 seasonal employees, have served more
than 1,100 educational institutions and nearly 2 million students over the past 20 years.
In December alone, over 400,000 families will pay their education
bills monthly through our Monthly Payment Option, while others will
receive paper or e-bills from their campuses via our billing
service or use our multi-channel
payment gateway services.
October, 2007. Key Education Resources (KER), a division of KeyBank National Division and parent company KeyCorp, recently acquired Tuition Management Systems. This aligns two companies with more than 75 combined years of education affordability experience, dedicated to helping families afford education. Together, we now help more than 750,000 families pay nearly $4 billion annually in K-12 and college and university expenses.
Our company remains unchanged. Tuition Management Systems and all of our employees will remain at our headquarters in Warwick, RI and Jon and Steven Dodd and our Senior Management Team will continue to oversee the company
